Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mix. She has performed on Broadway, in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing piano in church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice,"Stalk You the House came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed numerous times and it is a mainstay in her live performance. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform at Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
