Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born on Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother who were both authors as well as editors. Ryder's dad came from an ethnically Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder is the sister to Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. When Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved into Mendocino County California. They were in a home that had no electricity. Ryder was an avid bookworm and spent most of her time reading a book because there was no television. At the age of twelve, Ryder took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre to take classes in acting. When she was 15, Ryder was cast in Lucas the first of her major film. Ryder faced bullying during the school she attended. She hoped that her acting career would alter her life. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. She continued to pursue her dreams. She got her break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful characters in numerous films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
